“Ways”
Oh she had her ways
Ways like a woman child
Said she’d never stay
Thought of it just drove her wild
Mother wasn’t worth a damn
You know her father didn’t care
So she painted it upon her face
And combed it through her hair

She’s the queen of broken hearts
Wrote the script and played the part
Patron saint of love betrayed
Oh that girl she had her ways

Oh she had her ways
Ways like a wounded child
Day after day
All he did was criticize
He’d say she wasn’t worth a damn
Said her friends they didn’t care
So she painted it upon her face
And combed it through her hair

She’s the queen of broken hearts
Wrote the script and played the part
Patron saint of love betrayed
Oh that girl she had her ways…

“Might As Well Die”, the first single from…

“Might As Well Die”, the first single from the 2nd EP of the “Ways” album, “Ways White”, releases tonight at midnight. The song was recorded after the album was finished, and released on social media as a B-side for our fans. After the overwhelming response to the song, our label asked to add it to the record. We felt like it fit in nicely in the dark ballad and southern feel of WAYS WHITE. A special song to me as a songwriter, not really written to be heard- but connecting with so many people. We hope you will stream and share with your friends tomorrow- “Might as Well Die” by The Cold Stares

Might As Well Die

I was standing at the water’s edge
Wondering how it felt drown
Rather you tie me to cinder block
And send me on my way down
Then to tell me that I’ve lost my love
And have to say goodbye
My sun rises and sets in her eyes
And I know, lord I know, deep inside

I might as well die, might as well put me in the ground and say your goodbye,
In the sweet by and by, Lord knows if I can’t have her love, I might as well die

She held the key that opened up my cell
She sat me free and cared for me
She never asked about the scars I bore
Or the places I had seen
So find yourself a firing squad
And a tall oak tree
If you can’t see well enough to shoot me down
String me up, swing me high and set me free

Cause I might as well die, might as well put me in the ground and say your goodbye
In the sweet by and by, Lord knows if I can’t have her love, I might as well die
