“Might As Well Die”, the first single from…

“Might As Well Die”, the first single from the 2nd EP of the “Ways” album, “Ways White”, releases tonight at midnight. The song was recorded after the album was finished, and released on social media as a B-side for our fans. After the overwhelming response to the song, our label asked to add it to the record. We felt like it fit in nicely in the dark ballad and southern feel of WAYS WHITE. A special song to me as a songwriter, not really written to be heard- but connecting with so many people. We hope you will stream and share with your friends tomorrow- “Might as Well Die” by The Cold Stares

Might As Well Die

I was standing at the water’s edge
Wondering how it felt drown
Rather you tie me to cinder block
And send me on my way down
Then to tell me that I’ve lost my love
And have to say goodbye
My sun rises and sets in her eyes
And I know, lord I know, deep inside

I might as well die, might as well put me in the ground and say your goodbye,
In the sweet by and by, Lord knows if I can’t have her love, I might as well die

She held the key that opened up my cell
She sat me free and cared for me
She never asked about the scars I bore
Or the places I had seen
So find yourself a firing squad
And a tall oak tree
If you can’t see well enough to shoot me down
String me up, swing me high and set me free

Cause I might as well die, might as well put me in the ground and say your goodbye
In the sweet by and by, Lord knows if I can’t have her love, I might as well die

Release of WAYS Black EP

I couldn’t let the release of WAYS Black EP come out without mentioning “Into Black”. I’m attached to this record probably more than any we have done, and all of these songs are special to me I’m different ways. But, “Into Black” has always had a quality to it, a weight to it, that as a songwriter you always search for but at times you almost are afraid to open the door to. If you’ve ever lost something or someone and would have done anything to have them back then I hope the song speaks to you. It’s a heavy sentiment with a heavy riff.

Online tonight at midnight-

“Into Black”
A 1000 miles I have crawled for you
The sun and wind have burned my skin
And though my rider has abandoned me
I still seek your face again
And I will see you in the end

And I stood at the edge of the earth
And I stepped off into black
And I fell through the gates of hell
Just so I could get you back, just so I could get you back

A 1000 days I have searched for you
Traveled through distant lands
And though this world has forsaken me
I will seek your face again
I will see you in the end

And I stood at the edge of the earth
And I stepped off into black
And I fell through the gates of hell
Just so I could get you back, just so I could get you back
